My Work
These projects showcase my commitment to using technology to help individuals and small businesses. Each one demonstrates how simple solutions can have meaningful impact when applied thoughtfully.
Find My Landlord - Simple Website Fix
I helped someone add a redirect button to their website that directs visitors to their new improved site. This saved her a major headache during her site transition and ensured users could find the updated resources.
Impact: Although it was a simple fix, it had real impact for her users and demonstrates how you can find little ways to help people just by offering your tech expertise.
Pokemon API Explorer - Learning Tool
I built this interactive Pokemon explorer to help one of my coworkers learn about API GET requests. The project provides a fun, hands-on way to understand how APIs work by fetching and displaying Pokemon data.
Impact: This project embodies my belief in building free tools to help people learn and have fun. It made API concepts accessible and engaging for someone new to development.
Windy City Seniors - Nonprofit Website Support
I met someone through my local chamber of commerce who needed help with her nonprofit website. I've been teaching her about single sign-on (SSO), setting up donations, and other web concepts that website builders don't always make intuitive.
Impact: This ongoing collaboration shows how people can benefit from training and support, even when using "easy" website builder platforms. It's an example of community-centered tech work.
My Approach
Each of these projects reinforces my core belief: expert help shouldn't be gatekept. Whether it's a simple HTML redirect, a learning tool, or ongoing website support, technology should serve communities and be accessible to everyone.
I'm always looking for opportunities to help individuals and small businesses with their tech challenges. If you have a project that could benefit from some technical expertise, let's talk!
